A team of nine Nourish students traveled to Guatemala for five weeks to partner with Community Enterprise Solutions in their development of an “Exploration Center.”  In a community where only 2% of the population has ever been online, our team helped fund and construct a school with access to computers and the internet, vastly expanding opportunities for the community.
In addition, they built a greenhouse to be used for sustainable agriculture and crop diversification and taught Math and English at the local school.  To ensure efficiency, a Nourish student conducted a Community Impact Survey, to be followed up this summer as an assessment of the project’s impact.

Community Development Projects
Each summer, Nourish Chapters conduct projects like the Guatemala Project with funds earned throughout the year.  By focusing on partnerships with impoverished communities, Nourish breaks the problem of poverty down to a manageable size. Projects are selected based on their potential to empower the community not just for a day, but for the future.
