Q: What does a Chapter Founder do?

A: A Chapter Founder is responsible for building a Nourish Chapter on their campus. The most important part of this job is recruiting other students and organizing them to run ventures and select a project. While it’s important for Chapter Founders to delegate, most play a crucial part in all aspects of the organization in its first year. This experience is particularly relevant for anyone who wants to show their ability to lead in a fast-moving, high pressure environment.

Q: As a Chapter Founder, is there a particular amount of money I’m expected to raise?

A: While Nourish expects each of its chapters to earn as much money as possible, there is no minimum amount you are required to earn.

Q: How does a Chapter Founder make an impact?

A: By organizing student energy to tangibly solve some of the problems caused by global poverty, Chapter Founders create a global impact through the projects their Chapter implements and by equipping their classmates to be agents of social change.

Q: What kind of support will I get from Nourish International?

A: Nourish employs a full-time Chapter Coordinator who’s sole job is to help Chapter Leaders optimize their Chapter’s performance.

Additionally, Nourish hosts a Summer Institute to train a Chapter Leader for the challenges that they’ll face during the year.

Q: How many campuses will you be selecting this year?

A: Up to 5 new campuses will be selected for Nourish Chapters this year.

Q: Are there any prerequisites for applying?

A: Chapter Founders must be enrolled as full-time students in good standing with their University with at least one full school year remaining.

Q: How does the application process work?

A: The online application is available here. Qualified candidates will be selected for a phone interview with Nourish staff. Chapter Founders Applicants will be notified of their status by April 16.

Q: How can I prepare for the interview?

A: Look over the Nourish website to get an understanding of the organization. Check with your school’s administration to learn about the process of setting up a student organization on your campus. Be yourself and have fun.

Q: Is attendance at the Summer Institute required?

A: Attendance at the Summer Institute is required for all Chapter Founders.

Q: Can I apply with a friend?

A: Absolutely! Each student is required to submit an application, which will be reviewed independently, however, there is a space on the application to list the names of other students applying with you. Since the first thing a Chapter Founder does is build a team, having multiple people apply can only help you and your campus’s chances of being selected.

Q: Who do I get in touch with if I have questions or concerns about starting up a chapter at my university?

A: During the application process, our Chapter Founders Team will act as your support team. If you have any questions about the organization or application process, please email chapter.founders@nourishinternational.org.
